This I believe:
I believe jr. is currently busy singing some Ludacris:
"Ever since I was an embryo, waitin to shape up and ship out
Somethin in my brain said, "Wake up and kick out!"
Roberta and Wayne stayed up and flipped out
Cause when I came I was draped up and dripped out
Snip the umbilical, spit the government chip out
Peace out, A-Town gone and then I dipped out
And oh my gosh, the Osh Kosh was picked out
I slipped in, even my baby stroller was tricked out
Somebody get him, the lil' nigga's out of control
Put a lil' bit of rum in my bottle I'll dream about diamonds and gold"
There's another song that has a part "knick knack patty whack still ridin' Cadillac"
I don't know what it is about it... Ludacris just makes me smile!!!
....sorry mom.

The end of break... and a Crib!
The weather upon our arrival back to Ames was pretty spectacular. So much so that we spent the next few days playing outside...
I picked up a basket to put on the back of my bike so that I don't have to bungee cord my bag down for every trip.
What started off as a very simple project... well I just kept going and going.
Next thing you know, I had a bottle opener attached to the basket... Moved my rear light to the back of the basket...so it isn't blocked by my bag (which makes it worthless!!)... And... then I remembered how my bag would always get dirty from wet roads... As a solution to this I decided to cut up an old road tire and line the bottom of the basket. This also serves as extra cushioning for my bag (or for the cooler we have which also fits perfectly!).
And what is a campus cruiser bike without a New Belgium bike bell?
Expect some beer coozy's to be added to the basket sides in the near future...
...I have friends who need to keep hydrated!
------
Jared's tasks were much more... respectable...
The doors of the shed were stuck shut because the ground in front was too high... So he fixed it!
We made a make-shift wheelbarrow out of a sled and a flower pot. It actually worked really well!!
Luda supervised of course:
----------
THE CRIB!!!
Quite possibly the best part of being home from break would have to include going and picking out the crib for jr.!
It is an amazingly hard task! So many color choices, styles, price ranges - Whoah! We're really happy with what we found and it was even easy to put together. Not only that, but we also got a matching dresser/changing table deal-e-o with it. They were out of stock for that though so it will be shipped in a few weeks.
Thank You parental unit and Amie for coming to help out with it!

We'll wave goodbye with the sun in our eyes
First,
a very very VERY VERY huge huge
THANK YOU
to Uncle Ron and Aunt Deb for having us over spring break.
Not just having us, but for spoiling us, feeding us, relaxing with us, sharing with us, dissecting politics with us... for making tea as well as time for us.
It truly was a treat.
Thank you.
---------
On the first day, if you recall, the TURKEYS came out... which was Awesome! and we checked Every morning to see if they would come back, and they didn't...... UNTIL the last day!!! Yaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!
Turkeeeeeeeeeey!!!!!! They're fascinating to watch. If you ever get a chance to have turkeys come to your front/back yard a few days a week, i highly recommend it...
A lot of exciting things happened on this trip, no doubt. But, quite possibly, the MOST exciting thing ...for me... mmmm was the Airstream at the New Belgium brewery.
Now, a few of you may be aware that Fat Tire is my favorite beer, BUT... I'm not sure that as many of you are aware of my ultimate DREAM to live/have a vacation spot next to a river, with the woods surrounding me, an Airstream as the headquarters, a lawn chair or two outside - one of these:
and... mmm the sound of the river as me and luda sit out front while the sun comes up, me with my coffee, him with his tennis ball (jared would likely still be sleeping... he's not half the morning person i am!). And in the afternoons we'd ride bikes/hike and in the evenings we would cook dinner over the campfire.... and drink Fat Tire... See, now we're back on track!
The point being that... i always knew I loved Fat Tire, and...really all of the New Belgium beers (that I had tried in Iowa)...
but that they also have an AIRSTREAM out front!!!?!??!?
*siiiigh*
oh how happy we both were.
Jared became equally as happy once we went in and... They give you a list of their beers and you get to check 4 per person
of what you'd like to try. Well, me not having much more than a sip of each, jared won the jackpot by getting to actually have 8 samples. You should have seen his face when he realized it was all FREE! hahahahaha....
mmmm Yum.
Ahhhh what a trip.
--------------
Onward home...
Dear Nebraska,
You suck and we hold much hated toward you. Jared will soon be switching his research over to devise a worm-hole ...or some form of teleportation... from Omaha to Wyoming/Colorado.
Sincerely,
Kim and Jared

Colorado still loves us
Jared is an Amaaazing breakfast creator.
He loads it with BACON! and and cheeeese! and a wee bit 'o spinach so it is healthy.
Yum.
This was in preparation for when we climbed...Horsetooth Mountain!
Jared experienced the Quickening...albeit without a really awesome sword...and lightning.
There can be only one!!!!!!!!!!
Kim needs sunglasses to shield her eyes from the awesome.
I loves her.
Mountains're nice.
(Man, you're nosy...)
This is a time tunnel to the plant universe.
And this here's some damn fine photo-graphy, Lou.
Kim tried to Mountain bike up the entire trail!!!...without a Bike!
Too bad we gotta leave this place tomorrow. We're gonna miss it...
But...
We'll be back...

Another Day in the Mountains
Well... really this starts off from the first full day... Aunt Deb made us a deeeeelicious meal. We are being spoiled. Truly spoiled.
Jared entertains himself by chasing around the kitties:
they are quite possibly the most chatty cats I've ever met.
We spent this morning enjoying the sunshine outside, drinking tea and... grading tests. Definitely gave better grades than when I was grading along the 10 hour car ride.........
Jared explored and took some of his own pictures (i'll let him post about that, though!)
Later on, we went for a hike!
We found a shed...
A porter john... we found two actually...
Ooooh and a view of the house from way across the way, where we had hiked to!
More pretty pictures...
And along the way, I strutted ma stuff!! WHABAAAM!
Jared pretended to be Luigi and punch blocks for coins...
Then we napped for like...2 hours and... ate some more amazing food... mmmm foooood.
There were some 200 pictures taken today!! so it was quite a task to pick just a few....... we'll try our best to keep you caught up, though! Stay tuned!!!
New Belgium brewery tour tomorrow!!!!

Spoil us, Colorado
Up until the Tuesday before spring break or so, we were going to stick around Ames. ...Then ...we changed our minds.
I gave Luda one last kiss on the forehead (thank you Kris for watching him while we are away!!!) and off we were (are?)
The drive went... relatively quick, to be honest. Lots of pee stops, though!
We also saw ponds/quarries FILLED with BIRDS!
Thousands of them!
We stopped for lunch in Gothamburg (spelling?)
and ate here:
Lets just say...the only beer ON TAP was the Bud Light. A man, Larry, came in sporting a cowboy hat, hair that hadn't been cut since 1977, a cowboy vest with a pink shirt under it, and... a Great personality. It is always Nice to stop at places like this for lunch instead of a boring old McDonalds. Here.. we still got burgers, but everyone else who walked in (even the 8 and 10 year olds...) were well known by the bartender. I think they all hung out there pretty much every afternoon... Don't know what the kids were doing there at 1:30 in the afternoon... I can Only hope it is spring break for them?
Anyway!
It wasn't long before we wound our way to our final destination up into the mountains!
We had a nice dinner with Aunt Deb aaand went to bed!
In the morning though, because of the time change, we were awake at 6:30am... Just in time to see the sky behind the valley begin to turn orange... After sneaking out to relieve the bladder... I came back to bed and enjoyed watching the sun pop up. Amazing!!!
Next thing we know....
TUUUUURKEY! They were hanging out in the front yard.
Then we had breakfast and jared was a very very Very happy man
Later in the day today, we went for a hike!
(and by that i mean we walked down the driveway...but got allll THESE views...)
Jared hates nature, so he throws rocks at it (I am guessing that is why he insists on throwing rocks and ...poking cacti (who I am happy to hear, poke back!!))
I'm kidding, jared loves nature. He likes to smell it...
We had a lot of fun taking pictures and jumping off of things...
Sorry, jr.
Great... Great views
Stay tuned!!! That was only the drive and the first day!!!!!!
:)
